We got married on the same weekend as Presidents Day, which is pretty convenient, because Rhett is a school teacher so we will always have that day off. We celebrated our anniversary in the city that we got engaged, Las Vegas.
We got engaged at the top of the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.
Before we got dinner we went to Target to get each other robes. We both wanted lounging robes, but when we got there we got distracted with other things. I didn't like what I was wearing so I checked out the maternity section, and found a super cute striped dress! I wore the dress out of the store. :) Rhett loves Legos so we found a Hobbit set that was on Clearance! Which if you buy Legos, you know they are never on sale. We nixed the robe idea, and instead I got the dress and Rhett got some Legos. Happy Anniversary to us!
Dinner: When we got engaged we ate at the Grand Lux Cafe in the Venetian, so we celebrated by eating there again. The food was delicious. Rhett ordered a lemon pasta dish (which was huge!), and I ordered a ginormous cobb salad that was amazing! We ended with strawberry shortcake for dessert. We met these adorable ladies sitting next to us at dinner who were here for the market. We chatted with them for a bit after dinner, and they congratulated us on our Anniversary.
After dinner we headed to the show. We got Cirque Du Soleil tickets for "O". It was amazing! The stage is a large pool that opens and closes. They had fire dancers, acrobatics, high divers, gymnasts, and really random stuff. There really isn't a good way of saying it, they just had random things coming out of nowhere. For example; a baby crying in the music, or a jack in the box on stage. It was kinda weird, but the show was pretty amazing! We had a really fun time!
When we got home from the show I had a little surprise for Rhett. Secretly I had my friend Charlene from school set up a romantic room in our apartment with candles, hearts, and champagne glasses. Since the show tickets were kind of expensive we had decided not to do the hotel room. So, instead of a hotel I asked Charlene to decorate while we were gone. It was way fun, and Rhett was totally surprised! I'm not good at keeping a secret so I was pretty proud of myself, and ever so grateful for my friend Charlene!
The next day was Presidents Day. We had the day off so we made breakfast, and had an all day marathon of Downton Abbey... We are obsessed. We love the show so much!
We had a fabulous Anniversary, and I can't wait to spend many more years together!
